Philanthropy Invest in the Future
Throughout the Warren County YMCA's more than 125 years, the one enduring hallmark has been service to the community. The YMCA offers countless transforming experiences for young people, families, and senior citizens. However, one challenge the Warren County YMCA faces going forward is maintaining the quality of its programs, facilities, and staff while insuring financial accessibility for its members and program participants. A key strategy for meeting this challenge is to grow the Warren County YMCA Foundation.
The Warren County YMCA Foundation provides annual income to support Warren County YMCA programs and operations. As costs increase, earnings from the foundation become increasingly important for providing experiences of the very highest quality. Foundation income provides supplemental support for the YMCA and relieves the pressure to substantially raise fees.
One of the YMCA's key goal is to create a more stable and sustainable financial model that relies much less heavily upon membership and program participation fees so that:
- All people, regardless of financial ability, are able to participate
- Unpredictable and temporary increases in expenses have a less dramatic impact upon membership and program fees
In short, your gift to the Warren County YMCA Foundation ensures a lifetime of financial stability not only for the YMCA, but for generations of Warren County citizens.
Warren County YMCA Foundation Giving When giving a foundation gift, the principal donation is held and invested in perpetuity, while earnings are used for designated purposes. Contributions are invested by professional fund managers under the supervision of the Warren County YMCA Foundation Board.
Gifts to the YMCA Foundation are unrestricted gifts.
Unrestricted Giving provides general, discretionary support to the YMCA's annual budget, with special emphasis upon containment of fees coupled with providing financial assistance to members and program participants, enhancing staff training and development, and maintaining high quality equipment.
Restricted Giving provides specific support to a program, capital facility improvements, transportation, etc. Restricted gifts are given directly to the Warren County YMCA and do not go to the foundation.
